Building has been a family tradition for more than 55 years.
It started with Gifford Kleven, who built homes in Minnesota for more than 45 years. He passed his love and knowledge of building to his son, Al Kleven.
Al Kleven graduated from Mankato State College in 1965. He moved to Colorado Springs where he put his passion for homebuilding to work. Al has built more than 2000 homes in Southern Colorado over the past 35 years. In January 2005, Al sold Oakwood Construction to his son, Mark Kleven.
From a young age Mark knew he wanted to become a builder just like his dad. Mark received his degree in Construction Management while attending Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colorado. He worked his way through school by framing. Mark started framing for Bear Construction and shortly thereafter he was made partner. While working for Bear Construction, he framed many single family residences as well as some commercial projects. In 1998, Mark was offered a job by his dad. He moved to Pueblo and began work for Oakwood Construction.
Mark loves building and has an eye for detail. He has gained extensive knowledge of the homebuilding business through many years of hands on experience which ensures that you will receive a quality built home.
